Tuesday, January 29, 2013 - 18:00 - 20:30

Douglas College, New Westminster, BC

Veselin Jungic held a workshop with a group of students in the Graduate Diploma in Mathematics & Science Teaching Program at Douglas College, New Westminster, BC. This is a 2-year program for practicing elementary and middle school teachers who are not math/science specialists, but who want to improve their teaching of these subjects.

Veselin was a guest lecturer in the course Contemporary Issues in Mathematics and Science Education. The title of his presentation was Aboriginal Students in Mathematics and Science: A Personal View. Veselin's presentation triggered an interesting discussion and exchange of ideas and class experiences.

We finished the workshop with our ever-popular tensegrity activity.

Our special thanks go to Dr. Susan Oesterle, the MSTE Coordinator.
